Julie 1 - Mechelen

Amazing shoot with Julie, more 2 come later!

This shoot was done on a Thursday evening, it was hot, really hot for Belgium and we mostly worked with the late afternoon sunlight.

In this first shot I aimed my reflective panel to lighten up her face, position is a bit too low but I liked the result so much that i could not push the delete button, i worked with very narrow DOF and tilted my camera to get the only the eyes and a bit of the hair in the sharp part of the image

Afro-Latino 2010

Thanks to my colleague photographer Bart Henseler I have the possibility to photograph some artists at the fantastic Afro-Latino festival in Bree Belgium, more information can be found on their --> site <--

There really are a lot of photographers who like to do this work, so most of it is unpaid, even your expenses are not covered, if you get lucky you might get a few drinks but this is not what matters to me the most, I'm there to create pictures, not everyday photos anyone can take but i wanted to add a graphical or emotional touch to every photo, so on some of them you might not even recognize the artist but i hope you enjoy this very small amount of the photos I made over there :-)

Djennah and Loes

Last-minute stuff, normally we planned a super-duper bikini shoot with plenty of sun...; but this is Belgium so we got everything but sun = lot's of rain and clouds, so plan B = improvisation...

We went to Waterschei near Genk, I really couldn't tell you how many pictures were already made in this building so it's not easy to keep on producing something that wasn't done before...

MUA was Connie Van Noten, --> check out her SmuSmug site <--

co-photographers were Bart Henseler and Annelies Himpens!
